We feel like we hit the lottery with Charles. His knowledge of the area, home value, best practices for negotiating and holding space for our endless questions was unmatched. He worked so hard for us, an outsider might have thought we were clients buying a million dollar home, when in fact, we are first time home buyers purchasing at the lower end of the market. Buying a home in Washington, DC can be a big emotional battle of anxiety and anxiousness, but my experience working with Compass especially with Charles as my realtor made the entire process smooth, reassuring, and genuinely enjoyable. My wife and were in the process of taking trip to the DC to shop for houses and didn't have much time to prep let alone look for a solid agent. Luckily enough we got matched with Joe DeFilippo from Wardman Residential. Words cannot describe how grateful we were to get Joe. He was incredible professional and worked tirelessly to ensure our trip was a success. By the end of our trip we found a place that we fell in love with. Joe somehow managed to get a tour scheduled before the listing was even available. We're so glad he did because it end up being the house we bought even though online it didn't seem like our style. Again, I think that's just a testament to Joe and his ability to get an understanding of the people he works for. One of the things we really valued about Joe was his ability to deliver hard truths. We did not have a great understanding of the DC market or things to keep in mind when looking for a place in that area. There were places that we really liked, but Joe always brought up logical points that would make us reconsider things that we otherwise might not have thought of. Another point I really want to hammer home about Joe was his sole purpose was not to make the biggest sale, but make sure we got in the right home for us. During our short trip we toured roughly 15 homes, and the one we bought actually ended up being the cheapest. One of my biggest concerns with not really getting to vet for agents prior to getting there was getting steered in a direction that line the pockets of the agent. It's funny because when we toured our future home, I could see Joe kind of get excited, because he could see our vision. He was excited for us because he knew even though it might not have been the biggest pay day for him it was the best place for us. Just a testament to him being able to set aside his personal gain for his clients. Overall, it was just an absolutely incredible experience getting to work with Joe. I doubt we could have gotten a better agent even though a vetting process. For those reading this review, or anyone looking for an agent, do not hesitate to work through Wardmen. If all of their agents are like Joe then trust me, you're in good hands. But if you can...try your absolute hardest to get Joe on your side. You will not regret it!

Joe DeFilippo is great! Super professional, efficient, and warm person to be around. He was our buyer's agent for the our first home purchase, and made the whole process so easy. We had a lot of questions, and he was very thorough and patient with all his answers. Fast and flexible, always ready with answers and solutions. My husband had a few hiccups with his work/timeline and Joe and the team he works with helped us navigate through everything. We really lucked out with Joe DeFilippo as our agent.
