When I went to Anaheim High School in the 80s, I remember it just being the Mother Colony home. Luckily, in 2012, the city bought the two houses next to the Mother Colony House and made the entire area into the heritage park. Eventually Red Cross also gave them back the nice Victorian home. It took 9 months to scrub all that white paint off the walls and wood trim and fireplaces in the Victorian home. They really renovated this beautifully. The large barn in the back usually has the Anaheim City archivist inside explaining the history of this area and she knows a lot! The Mother Colony House used to be a rental place for actress Helen Majeska, but it was too small for her and eventually she ended up building herself a nice little mansion that is now managed by the OC parks in the Majeska Canyon. The interesting thing one of the volunteers was telling us about hair art, which is in a few pictures, is that David brush it with really fine comb, similar to lice comb, and they would take out all the oil and crud and you could go for months without washing the hair. They would collect all the hair and then make art out of it. The thing that looks like a necklace is actually made of hair also.

This was a nice little park to walk around. My bestie and I couldn't go inside any of the houses. They were all locked. But, it was fun to see the historical houses. Also, all the trees and plants around were very beautiful. I loved that huge fig tree! The morning glory flowers were blooming, so those were really nice as well. Stop by if you're in the area and have a little walk around.

My family and I took a tour of this place and we had an amazing experience there. The interior was beautiful. The employees were very courteous and understanding. Definitely recommend visiting this place.
